Warner Brothers and ViacomCBS are shopping around the idea of selling The CW. What this means for all the DCTV properties is uncertain.

Arrowverse Renewed for New Seasons

With the boom of comic book related media, and the fact that we are in a golden age of comic book television, The CW's announcement today that all of the shows they have from the Arrowverse would be renewed early for a 2020 - 2021 season came as no surprise! There are a few exceptions of course, Arrow is ending this year after a tremendous 8 season run. Additionally, this announcement was restricted to just renewals. There is no change on whether or not Superman and Lois or Green Arrow and The Canaries are green lit. This also doesn't address any future season for Stargirl, a show first developed for DC Universe, but our sources say conversations are already happening about a season 2.

Regardless, this is yet another great sign that the health and commitment to these shows is very strong. Getting ahead of renewal season allows for the producers to consider doing more crossovers like Crisis on Infinite Earths. The CW Network President Mark Pedowitz had this to say about the mass renewal:

These early orders for next season give our production teams a head start in plotting out story arcs and a jump on hiring staff, and this also provides us with a strong foundation of established, fan-favorite CW shows to build on for next season. We’ve been thrilled with the creative direction of all three new series, and even though we are in the very early stages of our new full stack streaming strategy, which allows viewers to catch up on our new shows from the beginning, we’re already seeing incredibly positive results from our multiplatform viewership for Nancy Drew and Batwoman
