A new cast member has been added to the growing ensemble for The Penguin, and this acting veteran is no stranger to the world of DC!
Clancy Brown has been cast to play Salvatore “Sal” Maroni, a notorious Gotham City crime boss, in a recurring role on The Penguin. The character was previously referenced repeatedly in The Batman. Sal Maroni has also been portrayed onscreen by actors like David Zayas in Fox’s Gotham and by Eric Roberts in The Dark Knight. Brown has appeared in a myriad of prior DC projects as well such as The Flash as General Wade Eiling, The Batman (2004) as Mister Freeze and the DC Animated Universe as Lex Luthor.
Brown will be joining an already impressive lineup of actors in The Penguin such as Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Deirdre O’Connell. The Penguin will consist of eight episodes, and the series is said to continue immediately after the events of The Batman.
