Warner Brothers and ViacomCBS are shopping around the idea of selling The CW. What this means for all the DCTV properties is uncertain.

Green Arrow and the Canaries Synopsis

As Crisis on Infinite Earths comes to a close and Arrow wraps up their final season, there is certainly a somber feeling in the air. That said, the spirit of the Arrowverse will continue. That will be seen most in The CW's new show, Green Arrow and the Canaries. As it stands now, the show hasn't been picked up for a full or even half season but just like The Arrowverse's most popular show, The Flash, the first episode is a backdoor pilot that will air as episode nine on Arrow. With so much of Mia "Queen's" world already being fleshed out via Arrow, the world building aspects needed for most pilots, like that of The CW's other new show, Superman and Lois, aren't needed. Here's what the synopsis has to say about this potential new show:

STAR CITY 2040 – It’s the year 2040 in Star City and Mia Queen (Katherine McNamara) has everything she could have ever wanted. However, when Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) suddenly show up in her life again, things take a shocking turn and her perfect world is upended. Laurel and Dinah are tracking a kidnapping victim with direct ties to Mia and they need her help. Knowing it will change everything, Mia can’t help but be a hero and she, Laurel and Dinah suit up once again to save the city. Tara Miele directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Marc Guggenheim & Jill Blankenship & Oscar Balderrama (#809). Original airdate 1/21/2020.
