Watchmen has been critically acclaimed television throughout its run in 2019. With the prolific nature of comic book-television being multi-seasonal, many were wondering if there was more to the story for HBO's Watchmen. USA Today has learned that, unfortunately, HBO won't be moving forward with a second season. Series creator Damon Lindelof feels that he's told the story he wanted to tell and is done with the project. He did give his blessing for another person to take it on but HBO programming chief Casey Bloys doesn't want to do more without Damon:

It would be hard to imagine doing it without Damon involved in some way.

So with that, it looks like the story is complete. Fans will have to deal with that season ending cliffhanger in various other ways.
