If you saw Black Lightning last night, you might have noticed that Jennifer looks...a bit different. Due to China Anne McClain's exiting of the show, the show needed to make up for that, and used the show's plot to explain it. When Jen was brought back from her energy-particle problem, Gambi's machine apparently rearranged her genes in such a way to change her appearance. It's quite clever, and we're looking forward to seeing how Laura handles her new role!
