Warner Brothers and ViacomCBS are shopping around the idea of selling The CW. What this means for all the DCTV properties is uncertain.

Naomi Show Casts Lead and Regulars

Ava DuVernay's new show for The CW, Naomi, based on the comic book series under the same name, has found its titular character, as well as 3 regulars! In the role of Naomi herself, Kaci Walfall has been tapped for the role. She's known for her previous roles in Army Wives, Power, and Person of Interest. The character is described as:

An effortlessly cool and confident high school student who is the adopted daughter of doting parents. Popular with all the kids in her military town, Naomi is unafraid to embrace her AP-student, comic book–loving nerdiness. After a supernatural event leads to the discovery of her powers within, Naomi pursues her hidden destiny.

The other 3 regulars who have been cast in the show thus far are Alexander Wraith, Cranston Johnson, and Camila Moreno. While we don't yet know how big the cast might get, the character descriptions give us a sense of what we might expect.

Wraith, known for his roles in Orange is the New Black, and Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, will be playing Dee, "the owner of a local tattoo parlor. When a strange event leaves the town in chaos, Dee hints that he knows more than he is willing to tell."

Meanwhile, Johnson, known for Hap & Leonard, and Filthy Rich, portrays Zumbado, "the mysterious owner of a local used car lot. Having heard troubling rumors about his past, Naomi actively tries to avoid him, but a tense encounter leaves her both shaken and curious."

Rounding off is Moreno, a newcomer to acting, who will be playing Lourdes, "a young woman with a sarcastic sense of humor who works in a vintage collectibles shop. She has an unrequited crush on Naomi, and she shares her obsession with classic comics. She is also happy to join in on Naomi’s schemes."

This all ties nicely to what we know so far from the official synopsis:

A local teenager named Naomi McDuffie starts looking into what happened the last time a super-being visited her hometown--and how that visit might tie into her own origins as an adopted child. But Naomi's seemingly harmless curiosity exposes more than just her family's startling secrets--it attracts the attention of forces that could threaten the Earth itself! Learning the truth about her heritage will turn Naomi's life upside down. Can she learn to control her uncanny new abilities and come to terms with her strange new place in the world before it's too late?
