Warner Brothers and ViacomCBS are shopping around the idea of selling The CW. What this means for all the DCTV properties is uncertain.

New Show from Ava DuVernay in Development for The CW

Ava DuVernay, prolific director and producer for movies such as Selma and A Wrinkle in Time, has been working on DC Comics properties as of late. From her upcoming film adaptation of the New Gods, to a limited series over on HBO Max for DMZ, she's now set her sights on a new series for The CW: Naomi. Based on the comicbook character of the same name, Naomi is a superhero who will go from small town teenager to discover the depths of the multiverse.

While there aren't many details, we do know that the series will follow Naomi after a supernatural event shakes her hometown, and she takes it upon herself to find out its origins. But what she discovers will apparently change everything she knew about superheroes. It's definitely something new and different, and from all the announcements, it's clear that The CW is gearing for a new generation of heroes, with a wider variety of stories. As it stands, it will be interesting to see if this new show will share the same universe, or if it'll stand as its own property, considering that this show won't come from Greg Berlanti, who had been leading the charge for the CW-verse of superhero shows ever since Arrow premiered.

We are definitely intrigued, and are looking forward to seeing more details that are sure to come. Let us know your thoughts below and in our forum! Don't forget to follow us on Twitter for breaking news!
