The actor who portrays our favorite scarlet speedster, Grant Gustin, is reportedly nearing a deal to star in a potential ninth season for The Flash. According to TVLine, Gustin’s contract is set to expire at the end of season eight, which is set to return in March. However, the actor who played Barry Allen for almost eight years now is nearing a new one-year pact with the show.

Other reports clarified that Gustin was given the option to return for multiple seasons before deciding to sign onto a one-season contract. The actor’s new contract will also bring quite a sizable raise as Gustin’s salary will be raised to more than $200,000 per episode. The maximum of this one-season contract will approximately be fifteen episodes, which means the ninth season could very well be the last season of The Flash.
