Warner Brothers and ViacomCBS are shopping around the idea of selling The CW. What this means for all the DCTV properties is uncertain.

Berlanti Donates $1 Million to Help Staff/Industry

Covid-19 has reshaped how our world functions on many different levels. The need for social distancing simply means that television shows can't be created safely right now. Grinding a whole industry to a halt that had a predetermined schedule puts a lot of people at risk for some kind of financial disaster. WarnerMedia offered to continue paying some of the staff that had their shows cut short. In an effort to continue that support, Arrowverse creator and famed television producer, Greg Berlanti has donated $1 Million of his own money to help the staff of Berlanti Productions as well as others in the filming industry. Berlanti Productions employs over 5,000 people. $600,000 of the donation is going straight into an account that employees can reach out to for needed support. The first to be eligible for this support are those working on shows that were cut short. This includes:

Batwoman Doom Patrol The Flash Riverdale The Flight Attendant Supergirl Prodigal Son

After more time has passed and better estimates on when the industry can begin work again, the fund will be made available to the other Berlanti Production shows; All American, Black Lightning, The Girls On The Bus, Katy Keene, Legends of Tomorrow, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Stargirl, Superman & Lois, Titans and You. The other $400,000 is going to "The Motion Picture Television Emergency Relief Fund, The SAG-AFTRA COVID-19 Disaster Fund and The Actors Fund" to aide those in the industry but not necessarily in Berlanti Productions.

This level of generosity really speaks to the quality of Greg Berlanti and his family. A producer who is really looking to take care of his own and the industry in which he works provides hope that this quarantine time will end and there is still good television to be made. I really like how he invests his money! Not only on all these shows, now this really fine move.
That money should help a lot, and I'm sure he won't go broke...
