HBOMax is certainly creating an incredible hub for DC fans. Between shows like Doom Patrol, currently airing its second season, upcoming shows like Green Lantern, and releasing Zack Synder's cut of the Justice League, we can see why they would want to grow it even more, now with an ambitious project to expand the world for Mat Reeves' upcoming film: The Batman. While there aren't many details surrounding the release date or the cast, we know it will be helmed by Reeves, as part of his deal with Warner Bros., and produced by Terrence Winter, known for his work on shows such as The Sopranos, and Boardwalk Empire, as well as Dylan Clark, whose work includes Bird Box and War for the Planet of the Apes.
We do have a brief description of what the show will be about, curtesy of HBOMax:
The groundbreaking television series to be written by Winter is set in the world Reeves is creating for The Batman feature film and will build upon the motion picture’s examination of the anatomy of corruption in Gotham City, ultimately launching a new Batman universe across multiple platforms. The series provides an unprecedented opportunity to extend the world established in the movie and further explore the myriad of compelling and complex characters of Gotham.
Matt Reeves also released a statement regarding the news:
This is an amazing opportunity, not only to expand the vision of the world I am creating in the film, but to explore it in the kind of depth and detail that only a longform format can afford — and getting to work with the incredibly talented Terence Winter, who has written so insightfully and powerfully about worlds of crime and corruption, is an absolute dream.
We're very excited to see what will come from this new project, and we'll be releasing updates and news as we get them. Let us know your thoughts below and in our forum! Don't forget to follow us on Twitter for breaking news!

I am leary of the direction Batwoman is going. Kate Kane is Batwoman and I don't want an imitation replacement.
This leaves season 2 of Pennyworth as the tv show I am most excited about in the Batman universe.
