Warner Brothers and ViacomCBS are shopping around the idea of selling The CW. What this means for all the DCTV properties is uncertain.

Supergirl Season Amended Via Covid

Supergirl's fifth season is the next casualty of the Coronavirus. This isn't as bad as some of the other shows and how they will be affected but the result is that Supergirl's 5th season is looking to be 19 episodes now instead of the 20. Producers of the show have taken the footage they gathered for the finale and have been able to mash it together with other existing footage to make a compelling final episode. The Flash and Legends face a similar situation but might not even have the time to shoot a finale. Many are now under the assumption that the 2020/2021 season of television will likely be vastly different than we've come to expect. With lead actor Melissa Benoist being pregnant as well, there is a lot to figure out before the beloved Arrowverse show returns.

I assume episode 19 is regular length. It makes me wonder how much mashing was done. Did ep 19 have a lot of lag and filler content? I know in the past, the Supergirl finale was jammed pack, so I can imagine things getting condensed. Just wondering what was to be versus what we get. I know they often film scenes out of order, I hope they had the final scene done and we get a solid coherent conclusion to the Leviathan arc. This situation was unavoidable but hoping the producers made some good lemonade from the lemons they were dealt.

I thought Legends completed filming all episodes. I thought it was The Flash and Batwoman that had 3 episodes each left to film.

Now Jon Cryer indicates they will use footage filed for E20 but they are writing new parts around it... Say what? Does that mean they will now do additional filming?
