Warner Brothers and ViacomCBS are shopping around the idea of selling The CW. What this means for all the DCTV properties is uncertain.

Supergirl Season Finale Synopsis

Things are coming to a head for Supergirl and her allies. In the season finale, it seems that Kara will be moving forward to take down Lex, and potentially fix things with Lena in order to get her help in taking down her brother. Meanwhile Brainy comes to a realization, and we wonder not only what it might be, but if that's somehow related with Nia's cryptic dreams regarding Brainy. From what we can tell, it will be an action-packed finale. Check out the synopsis below:

DAVID HAREWOOD DIRECTED THIS PENULTIMATE EPISODE   – Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) realizes that in order to stop Lex (guest star Jon Cryer) and Leviathan she must work with the one person she never thought she’d trust again – Lena (Katie McGrath).  Nia (Nicole Maines) keeps dreaming about Brainy (Jesse Rath) but struggles with what the dreams are trying to tell her.  Meanwhile, Brainy realizes there is only one way to stop Lex. David Harewood directed the episode with story by Derek Simon and teleplay by Emilio Ortego Aldrich & Nicki Holcomb (#519).  Original airdate 5/17/2020.

I am hopeful the mashup finale is a satisfying cap to a very uneven season. I think the season got off to a good start with Event Horizon. Had a few standout episodes with Tremors, The Bottle, Its a Super Life, Deus Lex Machina and obviously the awesome kickoff for Crisis on Infinite Earths. The rest have been a mixed bags, including Wrath of Khan, which I had very high hopes for but was left underwhelmed. The sub-par episode was more glaringly mediocre as it was sandwiched between the far superior Tremors and Crisis episodes. Anyway, I am hopeful Khan makes a better showing in his return for 5x18 and we go into the finale on a high note. With 5x19 now including scenes from the 5x20 finale, it should be an action packed hour. Fingers crossed it wraps things up nicely. We get Meaghan Rath back as the female doppelganger of Brainiac 5. Jesse Rath gave a nice interview at CBR.com that hint of good scenes to come between Lex and himself. It may be a long wait for season 6, so fingers crossed it sustains us. The finale now goes up against the Snowpiercer premiere.
