Happy Crisis on Infinite Earths day! On the eve of the major conclusion of Crisis, we are getting incredible news from The CW today! Without even filming the pilot episode, Superman and Lois has been ordered to series by the network! This shows an incredible confidence in the show and it's quality! With Arrow ending in just a few weeks, this confirms that there will continue to be six active DC TV Shows on The CW. That number could increase if Green Arrow and the Canaries is also picked up! For now, this is what we know about the Superman show:
Superman and Lois follows the world’s most famous superhero and comic books’ most famous journalist as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society. Based on the characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the pilot will be written and executive-produced by Todd Helbing (The Flash), Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns will also serve as EPs on the project from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Greg Berlanti's run seems to have no limits! It is also important to note that this show is being developed by Geoff Johns who also has his own show debuting on the DC Universe platform as well as The CW, Stargirl! I'm betting primary villains like Lex Luthor, Zod, Brainiac, Bizarro, Parasite, Metallo, Lobo, Prankster, Mongul, Imperiex, and Darkseid among others to be in Superman and Lois.
As for supporting characters, I can see Jimmy Olsen being recast as a result of the Crisis. Perry White has to be included. Dr Emil Hamilton and Steel John Henry Irons should round it out.
